Bully & Drug Free-That's Me!

Students woke up bully and drug free Monday morning.
It was pajama day!
Tuesday was Red Day.  We wore red to show pride in being bully and drug free!
Students promised to be bully and drug free on the Red Ribbon Week poster by the office.
Students gave bullying and drugs the boot on Western Wednesday!
Bullying and drugs are OLD SCHOOL!  Thursday was decades day.
Friday Fandom!  We are fans of being bully and drug free!  What are you a fan of?
This week was a really fun week to be a student at Check Elementary.  Along with the dress up days, a lot of learning was happening!
Students participated in a reader's theatre activity with Mrs. Nolen.
Students worked on numbers and number sense by using counters during math and identifying one more, one less, ten more, and ten less.
These two used dimes and pennies to illustrate their ability to count by tens and ones during recess.  Counting money is a great way to build number fluency!

Nocturnal animals were a focus this week.  Students completed a chart about bats and wrote about them.
Students read and illustrated the poem "Jack-O-Pie" on the interactive display.
Students did some problem solving after reading Skeleton Hiccups by Margery Cuyler.  Writers responded to the prompt:  "Skeleton has the hiccups.  How should he get rid of them? " Afterward, students used their imagination and a few Q-tips to create their own skeleton.

Remember, students may wear a costume to school Monday.  Keep school-appropriate dress in mind.
Have a great weekend!
