Earth Day Everyday!

Speak for the air, where the birds glide in the sun.
Speak for the land, where you play and run.
Speak for the water, splashing or still.
Speak for the Earth, if you won't who will?

Students have been learning about the importance of our limited natural resources during science this week.  After doing an  interactive sort of compost, recycling, or trash, they were ready to celebrate Earth Day by beautifying the school grounds Friday afternoon.

During math, students have been learning about 2D shapes. With geoboards, tracing shapes, and iPads, drawing and describing shapes has never been so easy!

During our unit on plants, students have learned about plant needs and plant parts.  To assess their learning, student teams created a plant model out of shapes and labeled it's parts.

I can't wait to see the adventures the next few weeks bring!
