We Are a Bucket Filling Classroom!

What a great week! We started off with ice cream sundaes as our first "bucket filler" celebration on Monday.  As a first grade community, our goal is to create a learning environment that values positive relationships and kind interactions.  We created the anchor chart (below) that describes what a bucket filling classroom looks, sounds, and feels like.  Behavior is reinforced throughout the day by adding warm fuzzies to the classroom bucket when positive interactions occur.  Once full, we celebrate!

Who loves America?  We do!  This week we began a unit on national symbols.

Crafting a bald eagle body by tracing our shoes and hands.

Counting and creating numbers!

Hard at work at stations!

Developing a love of reading...

I enjoy getting to know students during free time.  They have such good hearts and curious minds!  Can't wait to see what next week brings!
